Classic rugby ball and cricket bat

I’m not quite sure this is upcycling. It was my father’s 75th birthday last week and we are due to see him, touch wood, for the first time in ages, so this is in his honour.

When my parents downsized, to his bemusement, I nabbed his old rugby ball and cricket bat. My father is one of the least sporty people I have ever met, so we have no idea why he kept them all these years. To me, they are fantastic, made out of leather and wood they are beautifully crafted, not like the practical plastic and synthetic high performance things from my childhood.

The tennis racket was a gift from someone else when they realised I was collecting old sports equipment.

Unlike my father, I was sporty, they have pride of place on display and look great. Nice they have some family history to them.
