Kids outdoor play area

After making my pergola out of reclaimed fence posts, one night my wife said, you know, one of these would be good outside the house for the kids to play under in winter… ignoring the fact I had suggested that for the one we were now sitting under at the other ending the garden.

So I set off making a new pergola. This time I had to buy the fence posts and wood. Higher and bigger it was a faff with so many pipes etc running down the house and a very uneven surface. Bonus from this is our close line is now under cover!

I then focussed on making it fun. I already had the upcycled fort beside the pergola. I used an old raised planter with some plastic sheet to make a sandpit. Hid the garden tap with an old bamboo screen and with the pallet and the old roof from my garden store (itself an upcycle job) I made a crawl space den and climbing frame. All ready for the customers- I believe they approved!
