Scaffolding board planters

Having had two garden tables and only one now required it left some scaffolding boards for screwing together by my new pergola. I plan on growing some grapes vines the wooden stakes. The great thing about up-cycling is there are no limits. I no longer needed two tables and that wood has now been usedContinue reading “Scaffolding board planters”

Fort and club house – reclaimed and up-cycled!

This was an inspired build! I’ve always wanted to make a tree house or fort. My packing crate I used for storing cushions in, a bit more up-cycling and some of the wood from a spare garden table made for a rather simple and affective fort. The sides are left over wood from my shedContinue reading “Fort and club house – reclaimed and up-cycled!”

Scaffolding plank garden table

Look familiar? Almost… when I left our last house we had two rectangular garden tables made out of scaffolding planks. The downside was the weight. I dismantled for moving and used the parts from one to make some planters and a fort and clubhouse for my children. It’s really very simple. Four scaffolding planks, IContinue reading “Scaffolding plank garden table”

Scaffolding board planter

I’ve made many of these before, this scaffolding board planter was the first for our new house. Unlikely to be as many as the last garden- a couple of examples include raspberry beds and our front garden. As simple as always. Eight good screws, 4 x 500 cm scaffolding boards, lined with pond liner andContinue reading “Scaffolding board planter”

Parquet Dresser

This was one of these epic jobs I wish never to have started. Probably one of the largest. And, I can’t even really remember how, or why, I thought I would try and make this parquet dresser. It began with some reclaimed parquet floor, I had already used some for a small pipe table. ThereContinue reading “Parquet Dresser”

Scaffolding plank wood store with living roof

This project took almost four years until completion… if it can be called completed. When we acquired our house we were forced to clear an overgrown side garden, felling some poor trees to create an orchard and raised beds. With a wood burner and made construction projects, eg fruit tree arch, the logs would notContinue reading “Scaffolding plank wood store with living roof”

Reclaimed timber planters and wheelie bin store

Not unlike my toy box, this epic project started as a cleaning exercise.  It was a nice day and I was looking out on the carcass of some pallets the long planks removed for planters.  I really hate wheely bins, and our sizeable front drive was a horrible car park.  I really wanted some sleepersContinue reading “Reclaimed timber planters and wheelie bin store”

Round garden table

I really like these cable reels and could make endless things from them. On this occasion I sourced one from Oxford Wood Recycling along with an old fence post and some scaffolding planks. I cut the planks to size to make the leg supports, the fence post was the one leg and screwed into place. Continue reading “Round garden table”
