Having had two garden tables and only one now required it left some scaffolding boards for screwing together by my new pergola. I plan on growing some grapes vines the wooden stakes. The great thing about up-cycling is there are no limits. I no longer needed two tables and that wood has now been usedContinue reading “Scaffolding board planters”

Fort and club house – reclaimed and up-cycled!
This was an inspired build! I’ve always wanted to make a tree house or fort. My packing crate I used for storing cushions in, a bit more up-cycling and some of the wood from a spare garden table made for a rather simple and affective fort. The sides are left over wood from my shedContinue reading “Fort and club house – reclaimed and up-cycled!”
Reclaimed floor board shelves
Our box room is a small bedroom, office and storage. At 4m2 space is at a premium! We’ve lots of books and when we moved in there were some random floorboards in the room. The floorboards were cut to fit the corner and down gold brackets sourced. The shelves made a nice looking and practicalContinue reading “Reclaimed floor board shelves”
Garden steps
Pretty dull but practical garden steps. My toddler has to climb and while he’s pretty good, I fear disaster. Sadly these steps are doubly reclaimed. They were my garden table in our last house. Made from fence posts and scaffolding planks.
Reclaimed parquet bathroom cupboard
Our bathroom has a collection of eccentric reclaimed and drift wood furniture and mirrors. It makes it hard to find things to fit- oddly because nothing matches. You have to be careful not to go overboard. We didn’t want to change the bathroom but the vanity unity was tiny- and a bit rubbish. To counterContinue reading “Reclaimed parquet bathroom cupboard”
Reclaimed timber garden table
I have written before about my scaffolding garden benches. A pair of scaffolding tables were made at the same time. These were early upcycling creations and their flaws have created rustic charm. When we moved into our new house, my wife was keen for garden furniture, refusing to buy, I set to work with reclaimedContinue reading “Reclaimed timber garden table”
Parquet Dresser
This was one of these epic jobs I wish never to have started. Probably one of the largest. And, I can’t even really remember how, or why, I thought I would try and make this parquet dresser. It began with some reclaimed parquet floor, I had already used some for a small pipe table. ThereContinue reading “Parquet Dresser”
Pallet scrabble letters
One of my favourite games has always been scrabble. Not because I am good at spelling… far from it! With our new baby, we have been looking at decorating a nursery and I have been thinking of fun ways to make it different. Having already made an oak chair and a pallet toy box forContinue reading “Pallet scrabble letters”
Bathroom
We had designed a pretty cool bathroom with lovely tiles and a big shower. However, it was basically a white box and needed some touches to make it interesting. There was a lot of upcycling involved. First to come was a nautical rope to surround the mirror. Which went nicely with an antique ships wheelContinue reading “Bathroom”
Reclaimed wood kiwi vine support
A very simple job of using some old logs from the garden to create a frame I was using to train up a kiwi vine. Six years to fruit, fingers crossed it was worth planting!
