I’ve written before about dried flowers being placed in upcycled whisky and milk bottles. One step further are these used artillery shells. They found there way into our house when my parents downsized- I have no idea where they originally came from. For now they contain dried flowers from the garden. I quite like them.

Upcycled IKEA billy bookcase
These IKEA bookcases most be one of the most upcycled pieces of furniture ever. My attempt was light green in the inside and dark on the outdoor. It was old wall paint and then varnish. Upcycled pine wardrobe
We welcomed a new member to our family a few months ago. After months of debating a jungle animal theme was chosen for the nursery. Creative fun was to follow! Some pine furniture was handed down several times and been saved, on numerous occasions, from the skip. It is actually quite nice, just a bitContinue reading “Upcycled pine wardrobe”
Reclaimed pallet cat and mouse toy box
At some point last year, I was sent to the shed, my work room, to tidy. It had descended into chaos… again. Normally, because I lack storage, and must work around stuff. Utility room dresser

You couldn’t buy something to fit – the only solution was to make something bespoke! Just so happens I know a man who likes making things! There was aContinue reading “Utility room dresser”

Parquet flooring
Parquet flooring is a luxurious treat and an amazing resource for very cool upcycled projects. It is also a labour of love. The backContinue reading “Parquet flooring”
Upcycled pipe and scaffolding plank coffee table
My very first upcycling project, and still one of my coolest. Also, one of the rewarding items to make. If you are starting out with upcycling and want to use scaffolding planks and pipes, then start with this one. What you need are three one metre lengths of similar scaffolding planks. If you cut fromContinue reading “Upcycled pipe and scaffolding plank coffee table”
Plumbing Pipe
I have a confession. The plumbing pipe I use is not recycled, but it is upcycled. Good black pipe, with all the required connections, in the size and quantity needed, is impossible to source recycled. It is a lovely versatile product, but very expensive. I get mine with screw joints to allow you to planContinue reading “Plumbing Pipe”
